Greg Bennett

Greg Bennett is the most recent artist to join Travis Gallery. Greg has chosen the mediums of oil, watercolor

and pencil to execute the images of the sea, land or figurative composition. Each subject dictates what med-

ium would be considered for the painting, which Greg often determines when he first encounters a subject that

inspires him. The pencil is a favorite because Greg feels that it shows the bare bones of the artists' talent.

His paintings are often done "en plein air" in just a few hours or after several return visits to a particular

location. Using this method, Greg feels that he can accurately record the effects of the light and color of a


scene.

Greg's chosen style of painting has been influenced mostly by the American Impressionist painters of the late

19th and early 20th century. It is his hope that each person viewing his work will develop their own

interpretation.
